Sword Pendants: Does the Blade Come Out?

Two dragon-sheath pendants have removable swords. Compare their materials and connector hardware with four sculpted sword designs, using the listed dimensions and weights.

Yes—the miniature swords in the Dragon Katana and Copper Dragon pendants can be taken out of their dragon-wrapped sheaths. For the other four designs compared here, no removable sheath is documented. Check the actual product: a sword outline alone does not tell you whether the blade slides out.

The two dragon-sheath pendants

A scabbard is the sheath that holds a blade. In these two designs, a dragon coils around the scabbard while the miniature silver sword slides inside. Both galleries show the sword outside its sheath, and both show a short chain with a lobster clasp.

Dragon Katana: gold-color dragon, inscribed blade

The Dragon Katana is .925 sterling silver with a 10K gold-plated dragon detail. The warm dragon color stands against the silver scabbard and hilt. Its listing confirms that the sword is removable; one side of the blade carries the engraved words “Oriental Vibrations.”

The short chain and clasp are visible in the product photographs, although this listing does not describe their attachment or operation in detail.

Copper Dragon: copper dragon, connector chain described

The Copper Dragon uses a sculpted copper dragon with detailed scales around the silver scabbard. The listing explicitly describes a short connector chain with a lobster clasp and shows the sword and sheath separated.

This small connector is part of the pendant assembly. It is separate from the long chain used to wear a pendant around your neck.

Choosing between them

Start with the dragon's material and color: 10K gold plating on the Dragon Katana, or copper on the Copper Dragon. Their listed sizes and approximate weights are the same. For either design, inspect the open and closed product views and confirm how the clasp attaches if keeping the parts connected matters to you. Neither listing provides a retention-force test or explains how firmly the sword sits in its sheath.

Six sword pendants compared

The table preserves each listing's pendant dimensions and weight. A pendant measurement is not a blade length, and the listings do not consistently say whether the hanging loop is included. “Not described” means no removable sheath is documented. On a small screen, scroll the table sideways.

Four other ways to wear a sword motif

These four product listings do not describe a removable sheath. Their useful differences are the outline, decoration and listed size.

Two curved samurai designs

Two products share the name Samurai Sword Sterling Silver Pendant. The 65 mm design has an ornate pierced hilt and openwork guard leading into a long, curved polished blade. At about 10 g, it has the lower listed weight of the pair.

The 80 mm design has a textured grip, pierced details and flowing tribal engraving along its curved decorative blade. It is listed at approximately 20 g. Compare the close-up photographs as well as the dimensions: one emphasizes a polished curved outline, while the other carries more decoration along the blade.

An ornate guard or a compact crescent

The Gothic Warrior Sword has the longest stated height here, 89 mm. Floral blade patterns, small warrior figures and lion-head guard ends give it detail from top to tip. Polished raised sections stand against blackened recesses; its listed weight is 17 g.

The Japanese Sword & Crescent Moon puts a miniature sword across an engraved crescent. At about 24 × 34 mm and 5 g, it has the smallest listed dimensions and lowest listed weight of the six. The warm moon color contrasts with the silver sword, but the listing does not identify a separate metal for that color.

Before you buy

  • If a removable sword matters to you, choose a design whose listing describes removal. In this selection, that means the two dragon-sheath pendants.
  • Inspect the open and closed product views. If the connection matters to you, ask which parts remain attached when the sword is removed and how the clasp fastens.
  • Compare the listed pendant size with the space below your neckline. Before matching a chain, check its end fittings against the pendant opening using our pendant chain fit guide.
  • No complimentary leather necklace or cord is included. A wearing chain shown in a photograph is styling; confirm any separate chain option before ordering.
